About this calculator
Enter each subject’s credits and the grade points for your grade. On the common 10-point scale, O = 10, A+ = 9, A = 8, B+ = 7, B = 6, C = 5, P = 4 and F = 0.
How to use it
- Enter credits and grade points for each subject.
- Leave unused rows empty.
- Read your SGPA.
The formula
SGPA = Σ (credits × grade points) ÷ Σ credits
- credit points
- credits × grade points for a subject
Worked example
Six subjects, 17 credits
- Credit points = 4×9 + 4×8 + 3×10 + 3×7 + 2×9 + 1×8 = 145.
- SGPA = 145 ÷ 17 = 8.53.
What the result means
A high grade in a 4-credit subject moves your SGPA much more than in a 1-credit lab.
Assumptions
- 10-point grade points.
Limitations
- Grade points for each letter differ by university; check your scheme.
