Worked example
Five subjects out of 100 each
- Marks 86, 78, 92, 69 and 88: total 413 out of 500.
- Percentage = 413 ÷ 500 × 100 = 82.6%, Distinction.
What the result means
Some boards and colleges use the best five subjects; enter only those if that applies to you.
Assumptions
- All subjects count equally per mark.

- Division bands and pass marks differ between boards and universities.
