About this calculator

Enter each semester’s SGPA and credits. Leave credits empty to give every semester equal weight.

How to use it

  1. Enter the SGPA for each semester so far.
  2. Enter credits for each, or leave them all empty.
  3. Read your CGPA.

The formula

CGPA = Σ (SGPA × credits) ÷ Σ credits
SGPA
grade point average for one semester
credits
total credits of that semester

Worked example

Four semesters with 22 credits each

  1. SGPAs 8.2, 7.9, 8.5 and 8.8.
  2. CGPA = (8.2 + 7.9 + 8.5 + 8.8) × 22 ÷ 88 = 8.35.
  3. Equivalent percentage by the × 9.5 rule: 79.33%.

What the result means

When credits differ between semesters, the weighted CGPA can differ noticeably from a simple average.

Assumptions

  • 10-point scale.

Limitations
