The formula
Pace per 100 m = time ÷ distance × 100
- distance
- in metres
- pool length
- 25 m or 50 m
Worked example
1,500 m in 30 minutes, 25 m pool
- Pace = 30:00 ÷ 1500 × 100 = 2:00 per 100 m.
- That is 60 lengths, 0:30 each.
What the result means
A pace of 2:00 per 100 m is steady for adult fitness swimmers.
Assumptions
- Even pace.
Limitations
