About this calculator

The calculator tells you the hours a day you need and whether your available time is enough.

How to use it

  1. Enter chapters left and hours per chapter.
  2. Enter days left and revision days.
  3. Enter the hours you can study a day.

The formula

Hours a day = chapters × hours per chapter ÷ (days left − revision days)
revision days
days kept free at the end for revision

Worked example

24 chapters at 3 hours each, 30 days left, 7 for revision

  1. 72 hours over 23 days = 3.1 hours a day.
  2. You have 4 hours a day, so 92 hours: enough.
