About this calculator

Enter the angle in degrees or radians.

How to use it

  1. Enter the angle.
  2. Choose degrees or radians.
  3. Read the ratios.

The formula

tan = sin ÷ cos; cosec = 1 ÷ sin; sec = 1 ÷ cos; cot = 1 ÷ tan
standard angles
0°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 90°

Worked example

30°

  1. sin 30° = 1/2, cos 30° = √3/2, tan 30° = 1/√3.
  2. cosec 2, sec ≈ 1.155, cot ≈ 1.732.

What the result means

tan 90° and sec 90° are undefined because cos 90° = 0.

Assumptions

  • Real angles.

Limitations

  • Results are rounded to 10 significant figures.
