The formula
Difference = (end date and time) − (start date and time)
- 24-hour time
- for example 18:15 for 6:15 pm
Worked example
From 3 October, 9:30 am to 4 October, 6:15 pm
- That is 1 day 8 hours 45 minutes.
- = 32.75 hours, or 1,965 minutes.
What the result means

- Both times are in the same time zone.
Limitations
- Daylight saving changes are not applied; India does not use them.
