About this calculator

Add 5% to 10% for cutting and breakage, or more for diagonal layouts.

How to use it

  1. Enter the room size.
  2. Choose the tile size and pieces per box.
  3. Set the wastage.

The formula

Tiles = area ÷ tile area × (1 + wastage)
2 × 2 ft
600 × 600 mm, usually 4 per box
wastage
5% to 15%

Worked example

A 12 × 10 ft room with 2 × 2 ft tiles
