Worked example

₹5,00,000 of sales at 2.5%

  1. Commission = 5,00,000 × 2.5 ÷ 100 = ₹12,500.
  2. The seller keeps ₹4,87,500.

What the result means

For flat-rate commission, earnings rise in a straight line with sales. Some employers use slabs; work each slab separately and add them.

Assumptions

  • A single flat rate on the whole sale.

Limitations

  • Slab or tiered commission is not modelled.
  • GST on commission services and TDS are not included.
