Worked example
₹2,400 bill, 10% tip, 4 people
- Tip = 2,400 × 10 ÷ 100 = ₹240.
- Total = ₹2,640.
- Each person pays 2,640 ÷ 4 = ₹660.
What the result means
If the bill already includes a service charge, you may not need to tip extra; service charge is voluntary in Indian restaurants under consumer protection guidelines.
